I don’t know the stats but with Mesut in the team you are always going to get at least three chances a game from him. He always provides an excellent pass or something, a good move or play that leads to a goal, or almost leads to a goal. Mesut is a great player and he also works hard off the ball.”

Tony Cascarino urges Alexandre Lacazette to learn from Romelu Lukaku

Times journalist Tony Cascarino has urged Alexandre Lacazette to learn from Romelu Lukaku’s performances in recent matches. In a report covered by The Times, former Chelsea ace Cascarino has said that Lacazette can learn from recent exploits of Lukaku, who has improved his goalscoring prowess under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He added that the Manchester United ace has vastly improved on his finishing with his weaker right foot and Lacazette should take up a similar challenge in training.

Christmas will be true test of Emery’s Arsenal

It didn’t look to be going well at all for new Arsenal boss Unai Emery when he first poked his head out of the Emirates tunnel back in August. Back to back defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea left the Gunners with zero points from their first two Premier League matches.

Criticisms were heaped at the players, mostly Wenger’s old guard rather than the manager himself or his new signings, who were thrown straight into the mix. Former Arsenal man turned pundit Martin Keown called it a much needed reality check, although any reasonable Arsenal fan will be well aware that a change of regime takes time to implement.
