Joachim Loew speaks about Mesut Ozil’s future with Germany

Germany head coach Joachim Loew has refused to rule out the involvement of Mesut Ozil during the latter stages of the summer World Cup. The Arsenal star was hugely criticised following his average showing during the shock 1-0 defeat to Mexico and this witnessed him being benched for the 2-1 triumph over Sweden.

As such, there have been suggestions that Ozil may no longer command a significant role at the tournament but Loew has seemingly denied the claims by suggesting that the 29-year-old can still make an influence, he said: “We have strong competition with us in the squad. We will still need his creativity in the tournament.”

Petr Cech welcomes chance to don Arsenal’s number one jersey

Petr Cech has welcomed the opportunity to wear Arsenal’s number one jersey for the 2018/19 season. He told the club’s official website: “I already wanted number one when I came but it belonged to Wojciech Szczesny at the time. Last season when he left, it was at the last possible moment so I couldn’t get it either. When they asked me if I would take it this year, of course I was happy to have the opportunity.”

Tony Adams aims dig at Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of World Cup

Arsenal legend Tony Adam has claimed that England’s chances of winning the World Cup could be hampered by the presence of Tottenham Hotspur players in the squad. The Gunners favourite has suggested that the Spurs’ players don’t possess a winning mentality from the club level and this could have an effect on the Three Lions squad this summer.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Danny Rose, and Kevin Trippier are the Spurs players representing England at the tournament but Adams doubt their credentials on the bigger stage, he said: “You must be able to handle winning emotionally and mentally and if they don’t know how to win it, they aren’t going to win it. I’m really worried about these Tottenham players. I don’t think they know how to win. They’re very good players, but at certain points in seasons and tournaments, you have to step up. There’s a psyche [that] players must have.”

Santi Cazorla Confident Of Returning To First-Team Action After 18 Months

Is Fellaini the Answer?

Every summer, the transfer window rolls around and pundits discuss the areas of the Arsenal team in dire need of improvement. Every year, the defensive midfield positions are identified as a key area of weakness within the Gunners’ squad. And, every time, Arsene Wenger has failed to address this issue. Now that Unai Emery has taken over in the hot seat, will this close season be a different story? Arsenal are in need of big changes, and this gaping hole needs plugging immediately.

Unfortunately for the new boss at the Emirates, he will be expected to make the best of the summer transfer market with a limited budget of around £50 million according to The Telegraph. In the current climate, this is the kind of money that Premier League contenders are spending on singular players. Rebuilding a squad that is riddled with problems on this allowance will be nigh on impossible. With that in mind, Emery needs to play the market cleverly and look to bring in some bargains.

Arsene Wenger Dismisses Rumours Of Arsenal Signing David Luiz And Thomas Lemar

Arsene Wenger has denied suggestions that the club are interested in making a move for Thomas Lemar and David Luiz in the January transfer window. Arsenal have once again struggled to make any sort of an impact in the Premier League and are looking likely to finish in the top four at the very best. As a result, there are suggestions that Arsenal may reinforce the squad in January – especially considering that the top four finish is also not guaranteed. A number of players are also expected to leave Arsenal at the end of the campaign with key players like Alex Sanchez, Jack Wilshere, and Mesut Ozil coming to the end of their contracts.

David Luiz has followed with Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and has not featured in the blues team for the last few months. He is widely expected to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. At 30 years of age, David Luiz will be an immensely experienced option for Arsenal at the back.

Arsene Wenger Insists Europa League Is Tougher This Year

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that the Gunners do not have an easy challenge on their hands to win the Europa League title this term. The north London side are heavily fancied to progress to the quarter-final of the competition after taking a 2-0 lead over AC Milan in the round of 16 first leg, but Wenger is not taking any games for granted, given the added difficulty of the challenge this year.

You’re right, I want to be in the Champions League and in the Europa League, if you look at the teams that are in there, it is very strong.

Arsenal embrace change

Arsenal football club have long been one of the game’s more progressive clubs, with Arsene Wenger rightly hailed as one of the key catalysts involved in modernising the English Premier League in line with the rest of Europe.  When he first came in, Tony Adams et al were having daily beer binges straight after training, before eating a kebab, smoking a few cigars, and grabbing a few hours sleep ahead of the next dya’s training, when the whole cycle repeated itself.

Fast forward just a few years and he had turned the team into a bunch of professional athletes – actually caring what went into their bodies, and turning to chicken and pasta, and abstaining from alcohol to maximise results on the pitch!

He said that the second half was much easier for his players as they successfully raised their game to cope with the intensity of the CSKA Moscow players.
