EDU: ARTETA’S NEW DEAL BRINGS STABILITY TO ARSENAL

Arsenal sporting director Edu believes Mikel Arteta’s new contract will bring much-needed stability as the club looks to achieve new heights. Arteta signed a contract extension on Thursday, committing his future to the Gunners until 2027. His previous deal was set to expire at the end of the current season, but both sides were confident of reaching an agreement.

Since taking charge of Arsenal in 2019, Arteta has had a transformative impact on the club, winning the FA Cup in his first season and leading the team to consecutive second-place finishes in the Premier League over the past two campaigns. Arsenal now has its sights set on winning the league title for the first time since 2004, and Arteta is seen as the man to lead them to that goal.

Edu expressed his pride in securing Arteta’s long-term future, saying, “We are really happy that Mikel has signed a new long-term contract. It’s a very positive and proud moment for everyone at the club and an important part of what we’re all working towards.” He praised Arteta’s leadership, both on and off the field, adding, “Mikel has shown his qualities since the very first day he joined us, not only as a football manager but as a person with wonderful values.”

Edu believes Arteta’s new contract will provide Arsenal with the stability they need to continue their progress. “Mikel’s new contract gives us stability and clear direction as we aim for new heights,” he said, emphasizing the club’s long-term vision.

Josh Kroenke, Arsenal’s co-chair, echoed Edu’s sentiments, praising Arteta’s passion and dedication. “Mikel is a dynamic and passionate manager, who is relentless in the pursuit of excellence,” Kroenke said. “He has a deep understanding of Arsenal’s values, and since joining us as Head Coach in December 2019, he has taken the team to another level in an Arsenal way.”

Kroenke also highlighted the strong team spirit within the club and the shared belief in Arteta’s leadership as Arsenal aims to continue its upward trajectory. “There is a great collective team spirit at the club, and with the strong relationships we hold between us, we look forward with excitement and confidence, as we continue our aim – to win together.”

With Arteta’s new deal in place, Arsenal can now focus on building on the progress they’ve made under his tenure and pushing for their first league title in nearly two decades. The contract extension signals the club’s commitment to stability and long-term success under Arteta’s guidance.
