CITY STAR LINKED WITH SHOCK MOVE TO ARSENAL

In what appears to be a somewhat unbelievable story, Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has been linked with a surprise move to Arsenal this summer. The Gunners are still looking for options to sign this summer as they wish to replace the departed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and their hunt has led them directly to Jesus. Although it is hard to imagine Jesus signing for Arsenal, the last couple of years have shown us that there is nothing impossible in football.

The fact that Aubameyang was allowed to leave and is scoring for fun at Barca and Lacazette and Nketiah, both of whom are out of contract in June, and are certainly not scoring, makes the attacking department at the Emirates a real story.

ARSENAL EYEING THIRD STRAIGHT LEAGUE WIN

North London giants Arsenal were on a run of five straight wins in the Premier League before a blank January came along. They were unable to win any of their two league games in January and also crashed out of both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest and Liverpool respectively in the same month. In league terms, their five-game winning run was stopped by the controversial 2-1 home defeat to holders Manchester City having led 1-0 at the break. In the second and final league game of January, Arsenal dominated proceedings against Burnley, but they were not able to find a past their opponents as the two teams played out a goalless draw.

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the league with the 1-0 away win over fellow Champions League football chasers Wolverhampton Wanderers penultimate Thursday and the win also came with a controversy after Brazilian attacker Gabriel Martinelli was sent off for the Gunners in the second half for two yellow cards in the space of four seconds in the same play without the game being stopped.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has turned down the latest contract offer from the club as his existing contract draws to an end. The England Under-21s player has now rejected several offers of a new contract extension at the club. Sky Sports reported that the 22-year-old attacker is not necessarily motivated by finance and that his decision is mainly due to the lack of playing time.

ARSENAL MAY HAVE DONE THEIR LAST TRANSFER BUSINESS

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQ6M7gSWoAAP24_.jpg

As the end of the summer transfer window approached, it continues to look highly unlikely that Arsenal will be signing any more players. The Gunners have already signed five players this summer and were also able to convince their prized asset Emile Smith-Rowe to put pen to paper on a new contract which will see him continue his career at the north London club for years to come but Arsenal fans still think that’s not enough. Arsenal have signed Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares, Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, and Martin Odegaard all in this summer as they try to prove to their fans that they are now set to please them and add some firepower to their squad.

/>However, the Gunners faithful believe that while those players are young and have prospects, they are not up to the quality the club need to be able to fight for titles this season. Odegaard spent last season on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid but has made a permanent return this time after he was told that he does not have a guaranteed starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu this season. His arrival at the Emirates Stadium was initially hailed by Arsenal fans but after seeing the transfer businesses being done by other clubs, they have now claimed that the Gunners should have fine more.

ARSENAL TARGET EXPECTED TO SIGN A NEW DEAL IN COMING DAYS

It was reported some days ago that English Premier League side Arsenal were interested in signing a striker and that they had set their sights on striking a deal with Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan for the signing of their forward Lautaro Martinez. The Argentina international striker has been linked with an exit from the San Siro amid reports that the club are currently in a financial crisis and need to sell players to raise funds and avoid going into liquidation. The Italian Serie A Champions have already sanctioned the sale of star striker Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea and were also said to be willing to listen to offers for Martinez but that seems to have changed

Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has revealed that he expects Martinez to sign a new contract extension at the club despite reports strongly suggesting otherwise. Martinez and Lukaku formed a great strike partnership last season for Inter as they went on to fire the club to a first Serie A title in so many years. However, they will be playing for different clubs this season as Lukaku has already all but sealed his transfer to England; a return to Stamford Bridge.
